Bushing Help...
I dont' know a lot about cars, but enough to do my own work on them in most cases. One thing I DON'T know SQUAT about is bushings.
I have read a few threads regarding squeaking noises I hear over speed bumps, and believe my bushings are the culprit. (03 Z06 if it matters)Now, um...
what exactly are they? I have an idea that they are small rubber doughnut-like parts that go around the sway bars? Am I close?
If these bushings are causing my squeaks, I understand they need to be lubed. With what, exactly... and how? Do they come off so I can grease them up?
I guess I want to be sure that bushings are what I think they are, and then I'd like to know how to make them quit squeaking. I haven't spent much time under my car lately. Is this a simple task or do I have to rip apart my suspension to do this?
