AC idler pulley info
OK, yesterday I did an oil change on the vette. Warmed it up, jacked it up, drained it, and filled it. Everything was fine. After lowering it, I hit the key, and got a nasty squeal. Let it run a bit, but the noise wouldn't quit. 
Traced it to the AC idler pulley, I replaced last year about this same time. Crap!
No problem, I'll zip over, and pick one up. Checked the internet first. NAPA doesn't even carry them, Autozone and Advanced Auto don't stock them anymore.
I had to order it, so the beast is outa commission until tomorrow morning. Actually, I ordered 2, so I have one on hand for when the AC tensioner pulley dies. The pulley itself is the same part. 
Moral of the story: Next time you're at the parts store, go ahead and order one. Cause yours is going to take a crap eventually. It will save you down time.

Just went thru this same deal with my 00 coupe The auto parts nimrods told me it was in stock but they only had main drive belt tensioner and idler pulleys. Ordered it from dealer and that nimrod ordered wrong part then tried to tell me it was the right part
. He re-ordered the part after I told him the ac idler and tensioner were the same pulleys

I just changed my AC drive tensioner last Sunday, but didn't swap out for a Gatorback. I lost the squeal for about 12hrs. Started the car up Monday morning and the hamsters were working over time.
I hit Autozone for a new Gatorback yesterday, but have yet to put it on. It took me little to no time to remove the belt, but I know putting it back on would take me a little longer, so I'll tackle that this weekend.
Luckily its not AC season, so there is no rush.
