Default Changing Convertible Top

I've fell victim to the dreaded separated rear window. I have an all black vert and I am considering not replacing the original top with black again. I'm considering going blue. I've seen a couple of black verts with tan, red/burgundy but I don't think I've seen blue. I have the blue LEDs going on inside and I'm thinking about blue accents.

Any thoughts on the blue top? Are there Black/Blue Verts out there?

The only color vert tops offered on the C5 from the factory were white, black, light oak (tan) and shale (50th anniversary and commemorative additions only). Any other color would have to be aftermarket and I don't know what may be available there.

Just make sure when the top is replaced, it is to your satisfaction and it is done properly. See below - this is what happend to me.

Well after trying to glue and tape my convertible top window back in, I finally paid the $1,533.00 to have it replaced. When I arrived to pick up the car, my husband and I looked it over. We noticed that the left side near the trunk was sitting up off the car over an inch. The right side was sitting up about a 1/4 of an inch. I told the guy that I wasn't happy with the job and that when I looked into the car towards the rear I could see daylight where the top was supposed to touch the car. He said that all new convertible tops do that and to give it some time and the warm sun and it would eventually strecth and go down. I told him that wasn't good enough and I wasn't taking the car until it was fixed. He said that he would make some adjustments and would call me later. When I went back to get the car, it did look better and fit the way it should in the rear. The Problem. When I went to put the top down this is what it now looks like . .

Just my opinion but I would go back to a black top.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Here is a pic of a custom top I had made for my 2000 vert 4-5 years ago. It still looks great.

On a Black car I would stick with Black. I am Biased though since I own a triple Black Vert.

I would try fixing the separated window with Rhino Glue. I recently fixed mine with it. It was very easy and took all of about 5 minutes. Still holding perfectly.
