I took my Granatelli (biggest piece of crap exhaust ever IMHO) exhaust pieces off of my car a little while ago....the tips have never lined up right and the left side always works its way loose. So basically I left the pipes that connect to the H pipe and took the rest off. It's really not too loud but it has a very nasty sound during idle. Kind of a rattle that I'm assuming just comes from running straight pipes. My question...is there anything I can put on the end of those pipes to tone down the rattle?
did you use the clamps that came with the kit when you installed the exhaust? bc i heard they are CRAP and you need to buy better ones that you can even pick up at a local auto store that work better. maybe thatll solve youre problem?

Yea I used the clamps that came with it. I refuse to spend anymore money on it though. Even if the clamps held it in place, the tips won't ever line up....the ones on the left aren't even level with each other
When I took my Corsa touring off for test and tune I mace a couple of 90 degree turn downs to keep it from blowing out at the rear fenders and it helped direct the sound down and back a bit.didn't sound too bad either!! It did make the touring sound kinda quiet after driving around with straight pipes for over a week!!

Yea I was thinking about throwing a couple of short turn down pieces on to direct it down and to the side...didn't know if that would help with the "rattle" at idle though?
Wow.. You are running straight open exhaust and "the sound isn't that bad".... When mine are open the drone from 1300 to 1800 rpm or so under a slight load is almost painful to the ears unless it's at the drag track..
I've got the B&B quad ovals and added electric cutouts with turn downs.

Here's a pic of the turndowns

Well...I used to ride a Fatboy with straight pipes so yea it's not that loud to me.
I took it out again this evening and I'm wondering if the "rattle" I'm hearing has something to do with the exhaust reverberating against the ground during idle?? I can't imagine why it would "rattle" at idle. I'm thinking about putting a couple of turnout pieces on that will direct it down to the side (below the rocker panels).
I don't recall anything that sounded like a rattle! The straight pipes did kind of exaggerate the motor boat put put you get with the Corsa and stock H pipe. That put put is just due to the LS firing order and enhanced by the stock H. All reports an X pipe reduces that dramatically!!
