Yes it will. I have one in my '01 Z06. As long as the cluster is HUD capable then you should have no problems. I think HUD capable clusters were available from '99 up.

Like they above, it will work just fine in a 01Z. HUD started in the later part of 99, so some 99's have a HUD cluster and all 00-04's have a HUD cluster. GM will no longer sell new HUD projector's with out a repair order. You may have to try and get a used one.

HUD was optional '99 thru '01. Was standard '02 and up. I just finished installing HUD in my "01 Z. I purchased the projector, control switch and dash bezel off ebay. The instrument cluster in my Z was already HUDs capable. Works great.
