Observations About Race Seats
I've just completed what seemed like an odyssey in upgrading the seats in my C5. Initially, I spent the big bucks for a set of Caravaggios, which mounted on the stock seat bases. My impression: wonderful leather, quality otherwise only fair. and hurt by the sloppy adjustment mechanism of the original bases. Act 2 was a set of Sparco "Fighters". In spite of a fairly high price tag, both the quality of the seats and the dodgy engineering of the base/slider unit was disappointing. In addition, getting them into the car just about required a crowbar and a gallon of vaseline. Finally, I went with Corbeau FX1 Pros. In spite of their reasonable price, the quality. engineering and fit beat Sparco hands down.
