It's over!
I tried all the methods on the forum for the demon pin/shift **** removal. I now have a demon pin with chamfered corners due to the channel locks slipping off.
There is no way the pin is getting pulled off now!
Looks like my only option to remove the **** is hack saw the **** into pieces.
channel locks with jaws on front and rear of the demon key
tap sharply on right side of vice grips with hammer as you wiggle the vice grips front to back and pull up (like a dentist pulling a tooth)

I'd Have to agree try rws.1 's method, worked for me (pretty easily actually) just beware when the demon key does let go! think i bounced the vise grips off the edge of the molding on the roof pnl, no problems.
It's really not hard to remove. Clamp a good pair of vice grips tightly on the pin, then clamp another pair perpendicularly to the first pair and tap directly up on the second pair of vice grips with a hammer. Mine came out with one really light tap.
Lock channel locks onto the demon key. Stick a screw driver through the gap on the closed end of the demon key. Place a small piece of wood on the backside of the demon key. Then use the screw driver to pry up the demon key. This is the only thing that worked for me. Good luck.
Squirt a little WD-40 around it and I had my best luck using a paint can openner to pry with rather than a screwdriver. Gives you better leverage without damaging the leather.
