I just thought I would see if any northern members wanted to cry with me about having to put our beloved vettes away for the winter. I drove mine today but put fuel stabilizer in before I filled her for the last time for winter storage. I am pretty sad Oh well, I got a lot of driving in this summer including a 6000 km road trip to San Francisco and back. I am already looking forward to the spring!
Ya Im depressed already and its only Nov. I stood there in the garage this morning looking at my vettes wishing I had lived in Florida so I could drive em all the time.
I have a slightly different perspective living in the southwest desert region. It's still almost 70 degrees where I am in the mountains...with no rain or snow in sight for some time. It's in the mid 80s 125 miles away in Phoenix.
We need both for our ground water replenishment. It'll be another tinder box summer if we stay dry. The winds that are fanning the fire(s) in southern CA will come this way.
Being able to drive my car takes a back seat to having water to drink...

Why be sad? Drive it, Weather can't be bad everyday.
I know a lot of people cringe at the thought, but I simply keep driving mine all winter long. I won't drive it in deep snow, but for the rest of the time it's still my daily driver. I just hate winter so much as it is, I don't need another reason to be even more miserable (such as being stuck driving a boring car everyday instead of my Vette!)
I feel for you guys. Its the opposite for us here. Now its not 115 degrees in the shade. 160 degrees+ when you get in your car with black seats, having to have the AC on full blast. That nets us -30 HP at the wheels all summer
I guess its our turn to take off the top now and drive all winter in the 60s and 70s, except for this week......80s.:o
I dont see how you guys can stand not driving the vette for 6 months.
When there's 3 feet of snow on the ground for 4 months...the weather is bad everyday. I need to move!!
I was just up your way in Terrace Bay and Thunder Bay, Ontario. It's quite cold now with flurries and sleet. Between the cold and all of the wildlife up there it's tough driving at night.

When I had mine, I sure knew how you feel. But, there will be days when the weather is nice and the streets are clean - you might consider getting the car out on some of those.
I punched mine last Friday in 4th gear and she snapped sideways at 80 MPH. The Nitto Drag radials don't like cold temps, even when the road is dry. So, Saturday, I put in the fuel stabilizer, jacked it up on jack stands, took the wheels off, and called my insurance agent to take off my insurance for the winter.
