I'm driving down I 40 this morning on my way to some winter golf and I see a TR vert on the shoulder, flashers going and a man getting out. I stop to help and he says he ran out of gas,,,,
WTF gas is less than $2.20 a gallon for top tier premium.
He says he doesn't like his 1998 vert and wishes he had a truck
I asked him what he wanted for his out of gas ride,,,he says $30,000....
Me thinks he isn't quite current, with gas prices or Vetteprices.
I gave him a ride to a gas station and let him find his own way back,.
Probably just wasn't paying attention to the gauge. Happens to my ex-girlfriend alot LOL. Him not wanting the Corvette is ok, they are not for everyone. If he wants a truck then obviously his lifestyle has changed so that a Corvette is not suitable.
on the ride to get his gas. I would have told him then i guess you plane on keeping it then..because at 30K its not going any place soon..like as in NEVER!!..

Hell I'll sell my 2000 FRC for $29,900!!!:che ers:
Its even nice to give BIG!! dreamers a ride now and then..But know matter what. it was cool of you to pull over and lend him a helping hand and a ride to get gas..Good guy you are..just one corvette owner helping another corvette owner..

Yea, he's way out of touch with the price on the car. And the car does everything but slap you upside the head when you get low on gas - must really not pay any attention.

Trade a Vette for a truck???
Don't know what kind of truck he's thinking of but when I traded my truck, Dodge 1500, for my '04, I doubled my milage.
Good gesture, even if he's clueless about the value of his Vette.
Since I've owned and driven 4 different Vettes, I guess I don't have much patience for some one that doesn't love 'em like me. It didn't enter my mind not to stop for him, I later got to thinking about the fuel gauge problem, Maybe he'll take a few bucks less if it has that problem..
