Default C6Z shocks

Whose gone from the C5Z shocks to the C6Z shocks? Do you like them? What were the noticeable differences? Firmer, softer, same? For $237. for all 4, its hard not to consider them.

I installed the C6Z shocks about a year ago. They feel a little firmer comparing to my 01 z06 shocks(They had about 90K miles on them). It does feel more stable on highway speeds, generally I am satisfied with them. Most people here recommended 2004 z06 shocks, but I too was tempted with the low price : )

So would 2004 Z06 shocks give a less harsh ride than the 2002 shocks? My 02 Zee seems to ride pretty harsh at times, and seems a little "jittery" at higher speeds. Maybe some of that is the aggressive wheel alignment from the factory?

My Z is an 02. The shocks have 76k miles on them. I like the idea that the C6Z shocks are firm. I wonder if the C6 shocks are actually firmer than C5 shocks, or they just seem so comparing to an older set. I may give them a try.

Great topic. I may have to try a set of the C6 Z06 shocks. My 02 shocks are firm.

I have a 2002 Z06 as well.

For me- I love firm. The firmer the better.

What are the firmest shocks for my Z ? The 2004 or 2006 Z06 shocks? Or, are the original 2002 spec shocks the firmest.

I have an 02 z, and just replaced my shocks two weeks ago w/ the c6z shocks. It felt firmer compared to the original shocks but I did have 58,000 miles on them. My car felt loose/ or uneasy over bumps on the freeway and city streets, and after the install it helped (IMHO) a great deal. I feel more confident at higher speeds, not as much side movements from the car. For the price just do it.

I put the C6Z shocks on my 03 Z at around 30,000 miles. There was definately a difference in firmness. That compounded with the low price makes them my choice for shocks.

I don't know about the firmness of the 2004 z06 shocks. They are tuned for c5's, so I can only imagine they are a better fit(for twice the $$)

Same here, C6Z shocks feel much better/firmer compared to my old worn out C5Z's... I got a pair of rears for $50 + shipping though.

I've never seen any shock dyno graphs for any of them, but going to 04 shocks (from 01s) SOTP seems they are a bit softer on compression (ie, they ride better on the street). My hunch is they have better control on rebound.

Going from the 01s to the 04s is a BIG difference.
