The cartridge is stuck inside...hmmm. Why did the seller, sell it? I'll venture a guess that either there's no power to it or its physically jammed somehow. If you have power there, you're going to have to take it apart and find out what's going on in there.
As you are looking at the front of the unit, it is a tiny black hole to the far upper left corner. Needs a small pen tip or unfolded paper clip to depress the rubber switch.......make sure your key is ON and the radio is ON
hmm any other experiences with this?
thank you to those who have helped already.
I had this happen to my changer. I took the cover off and was able "dislodge" the stuck CD in the tray. There was enough play in the tray to wiggle it and have the CD fall back into proper place. This problem occurs when you are selecting a CD and then decide to change to a different CD without letting the first one you choose cycle. Be careful if you take the cover off because there are a bunch of little screws and springs that can either fall out or become detached. It was a fairly simple fix. If you decide to take a look at the inside, take the entire player out of the mounting brackets in the trunk without unplugging it. That way you can have someone run through the selections from the dash while you find out which CD is stuck. I am not sure that this will help if the CD is not the issue. Good luck.

That has happened to the wife's CD changer , so now she just lets the CD cycle thru before switching to another selection. I have 5 vehicles that use the remote 12 disc CD changer ( both Delco and Pioneer) with out problem other than installing the CD upside down ( which most eveyone has done) or this particular operating error. ( I keep three changers as spares but have yet to need any of them in 12 years).

Just bought a 99 with a 12 CD changer. Do yo leave the CD's in during the winter if you are not driving the car. IF not, can you just leave out the pop out unit. THanks
I actually remove the CD changers from my vehicles ( 5) during the winter as it get below minus 20 degrees here at times. I do use dessicant packs and plastic tubs of baking soda placed in the interiors but it so easy just to remove the remote CD changers.

Is it really needed to do all that stuff for the interior?
what will happen if you dont? why not give some heat to the garage instead?

Well wouldn't that be nice, maybe radiant floor heat as well as A/C but do you know what energy cost to keep two (2) 40x 60 buildings plus the 26x30 garage heated when temps are below freezing more than half the year and as low as -20 often? That is a challenge that I did not have in the SF Bay Area of Kalifornia.
I do a lot of prep for winter for with 40ft motorcoach and all of the storage vehicles. Just keeping battery tenders for all eleven (11) vehicles in storage is enough. Avearge cost just to heat the residence is $680 in the winter ( according to the boss,) , that's roughly ten times the cost when we lived in Kalifornia ( where a winter low night time temperature there is a day time temp high here). It just requires more 'work' to live in the wilderness.
