I got this message today for the first time since owning this '04 Z06. It went away and hasn't happened anymore today. I did a search on the forum, found quite a few threads on the subject and have read through almost all of them.
I'm guessing the battery in my car is the original. There is no evidence of any electrolyte leaking but it's probably time to replace it.
Other than checking the grounds and possibly replacing the alternator, has anyone found a sure fire fix to this issue?
This is a VERY common message. It means nothing, and won't hurt a thing. My previous 02 Z06 had the original battery and I used to get the message sometimes and the car ran and held up flawlessly.
I battled with this for a long time after I installed my NGK plugs, MSD wires, and MSD coil packs. I thought something was wrong somewhere and it gave me a big headache.
I would not start replacing parts as others have stated it is not a big problem. I did get this as well and I finally traced my problem to a starter/solenoid problem. I did have to replace the starter and the other indication was the volt reading on the DIC was very low. Since my car sits sometimes for several weeks I have started to use the Battery Tender to keep the battery charged. This may help if you are not driving the car a lot and plan on putting it away for the winter.

I get the same thing here is my 2 cents worth… The car sits for a while the battery drops a little below 14.2 are what every it should be, then the computer thinks something is wrong and displays (Charge System Fault)…. I just got CSF yesterday for I think the fourth time, and the car had sat for at lest 3 1/2 weeks… I don’t worry about it any more….
