4th on a 6-speed C5 (3rd on an A4). That is your 1:1 gear. Other gears will affect the readings +/- due to ratios above or below that. On a dyno, only torque and speed can be measured so power must be calculated from the torque and speed figures.
I am not 100% on this but I believe 4.10's would affect the outcome. This is because the 4.10 gears have different power loss properties than lower gears, such as more tooth contact and added friction. I do not think this is a huge difference, but could account for something. The rear end ratio should be accounted for anyway when doing a pull. If I am totally wrong on this info, please let me know.
