Took the car out for some fun in the sun. Ended up @ Mickey D's
parking.
Some good soul decided to feed the Gulls with a gut bomb, and
needless to say they attracted a crowd. Many of whom decided
to dive bomb my paint. And my "PROTECT-O-PLATE failed to
perform as the dealer said it would. I am beginning to think
that many of these dealer installed add-ons are just a scam
Thank Goodness the offending birds did not devastate my
finish
At least the high performance hood seal works as advertized.
One of the first lessons I learned shortly after my vette is to be mindful in parking lots... trees = birdchit.... this was not the case for the OP, but since we're on this subject, I wanted to comment about that.
I used to wonder if there was any silver bullet to remove bird-crap but after some research it, I found that applying water on a shamie and letting it soak works best. But because the dang-gone things eat a lot of grit, you don't want to rub it off because it can scratch the paint... I just dab dab and spray more water from a spray bottle. In fact, I keep a spray bottle of water and shamie in the car just to be prepared!

I ended up flooding the area w/ Adam's detailer, letting it soak and then
re wetting it and using microfiber. A rewax of the area will follow shortly.
