Default Identifying a Z51?

Hello all,

I am pretty new to the forum and am planning on purchasing a C5 in the next couple of months. My requirements are that it has a M/T, coupe body style, and has the Z51 package.

Now I know how to identify a C6 as having the Z51 package, but is there any way to do the same with a C5? Thanks in advance.

Power steering cooler you can see it behind the radiator. Glove box has build codes and it should say Z51. Bigger sway bars if they look like toothpicks it's not a Z51

Just buy yourself a FRC and you will be all set. They all came with the Z51 handling package and the 6 speed transmission. FRC'S are the only way to fly.

If it rides like a truck with a stiff suspension on a dirt logging road, its a Z51.

Yes, and you may have FE3. Z19, and/or Z51. They all include the Z51.

You might want to edit your profile to show your Vette as a 2000, and not a 2005.

Nice looking FRC.

If the codes are missing: notice last sentence.

Z51 Handling Package is designed for appropriate, sanctioned competitions, or for the driver who desires the ultimate in a suspension system. Tuned on road racing courses and autocross tracks, Z51 offers a top level of handling. Z51's highly controlled ride stems from stiffer springs, larger stabilizer bars and larger monotube shock absorbers than the standard suspension. When Z51 is ordered with MXO Automatic Transmission It Requires the G92 Performance Axle Option which has a ratio of 3:15 The only way to get the Power Steering Cooler is with the Z51 package. Basically, the Z51 Package is the combination of the "Heavy Duty Suspension" and the "Power Steering Cooler".
Note: When reviewing your RPO codes on your C5's RPO Code Sticker you will notice that when Z51 is Selected the RPO code of FE3 (HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION) is also there. FE3 is the RPO Code the Factory Production line employees use when building the C5 with the Z51 Package. At the Factory all FE3 Components are COLOR Coded with either WHITE TAGS or a White Colored Crayon Mark.

Also, not all Z51s came with the power steering cooler. I ordered my 97 with the Z51 package and it did not have the finned power steering cooler. I added it later.

Default Can Someone Explain the Anti-Theft System to Me?

What it does, how it operates, when it activates, how the car knows it is being stolen, what it does when it is stolen, you know that kind of stuff.

I have a y2k coupe.

You should start a new thread. More apt to get answers with the proper title.
