After scowering "that auction site" i found that 98-02 camero foglights appear to use the exact same mounts as C5 OEM foglights. The projectors themselves appear to be the same type but have a different kind of bulb mount on the back.
Compared to the $150 of corvette fogs w/ mounts, I've seen the camero versions as low as $35 shipped.

I've always been told there's no such thing as a stupid question, so I'm asking.
Can fog lights be added to the Z06? Where do they mount?
They would mount to the same spot as on the other cars. You can either make your own mount behind the front screens or buy the fog housings from the non-Z06 cars.

yes; the same place as a Targa/Vert C5. I believe the fusebox even has a circuit for the fog lights. You just need a harness....or you can make your own with a Relay.

I added a pair of PIAA's to my Z06 and they not only fit perfectly (they mount where the stock ones mount in the non-Z C5) they tie into the stock electrical connections as well (the PIAAs come with relay and fuse tap too - you just tap a wire on the bottom of the underhood fuse block and you're done with that part).
I bought a new trunk release/fog light switch panel for $35 and the install looks and works as pure stock. Did the whole installation, start to finish, in under an hour.
I recently changed out my stock halogen low beams for HIDs and man, what a difference! Now I need to change out the PIAA's too as they look waaay too yellow!

Has anybody had a problem getting everything to line up correctly when using the correct Z06 bracket? I can't get the lense of the driver's side to fit properly in the space provided.

Z06 bracket? There is no such thing as far as I know.

I assume you mean Base model bracket.
If you have the OEM foglight hole, it should line up. There's minimal vertical movement, but there is a slighlt horizontal movement when you install the bracket.

Yes, I meant the base model bracket. Okay, I'll try it again, just don't understand why it won't work. I previosly had a PIAA setup with a custom bracket and everything lined up and both brackets had the exact same measurements.
Instead of buying C5 foglights I purchased the PIAA 1100x lights. Factory fogs are more decorative than producing actual light you can see on the road. The PIAA's produce more light than your low-beams. They are actually bright enough to drive at night with on. They cost me somewhere around $150+, but their performance and the completeness of the kit makes them worth it. I got them from www.litewarehouse.com who also makes a bracket to mount them, one-stop shopping. The only other thing you need to get is the factory foglight switch. The whole thing is easy to install, the car already has factory foglight wiring and relay installed and plugs right into the switch. When done, they function like GM installed them.

This is true, but mostly because the OEM fogs come with 35w halogen bulbs. With HIDs they look like this:
It's a great pattern for fog or poorly lit roads. If you spend a lot of time on the highway at night, the Piaas are a better choice.
