Annoying squeak inside car
Hey there, I swapped my shocks over to bilstein sports and am not quite sure if I like them yet. I did notice that I have a really bad squeaking noise from the rear, but I think it was there before I put the shocks on. I hardly ever drive my car and usually with the radio up. Can you really hear the rear suspension bushings squeaking while inside the car with all the windows up? it is very loud, which makes me think it is something else. Any ideas?

It's not the brakes or the shock housing.....every thing works fine. I guess I have to have my friend ride in the back to see if he can pinpoint it inside, then if i find nothing we'll move outside.

Well, I figured out what the squeak was. The left rear shock. The rubber bushings distorted when the shock was mounted on the car so the shock shaft rubbed on the upper mounting bracket. Not the whole shaft just the upper part thats covered by the bushings. This time I lubed the bushings with thicker grease and tightened everything up with the suspension loaded. The problem hasn't come back, but I think I will order some of those VBandP shock bushings with the sleeve that goes through the upper mounting bracket.
