Has anyone ever seen the ACP wide body kit in person, or some other wide body kit?
Call me crazy here, but I have visions of the new Kumho 385 tire that doesn't stick out the sides. Maybe a mini-tub and fender flares and the wide body kit.
I think it looks awesome, but the only pics I can find are the white ones on their website. Help anyone?
The Caravaggio is a tossup in my opinion..merely my aesthetic opinion. Where the body flares out past the door, they need to do something like the early 1990's ferraris, specifically the 348 models with the air inlet with fins. Better yet Caravaggio should do like Chevy did to the 1990s ZR-1 was for the regular vette. Make the doors wider and flush to the rear fascia. There just isn't that smooth transition of body lines. If you're going to pay 10, 15, 20+ grand for a body kit, why not throw in doors that are flush.
For the money bolt on some C6 Z rear quarter panels and paint to spec color. There was also a German Co that made "extreme" kits for C4-6, cost was about 10k, plus shipping. Last I heard the company is out of business, and I would have to order the kit from some guy in Finland. If you're not looking for looks, for extra traction, try a different compound tire. Goodyear F1s and Mich Pilot Sports are somewhat forgiving, Toyo R888s, and some Nittos are less.
Greenwood makes some kits. Callaway might have something.
Here is the German kit, to me it's ugly!
They are located in Florida.

There is also another kit made by Downs Manufacturing from somewhere in Michigan. They primarily are a street rod body manufacturer. I saw there kit on a demo car at Carlisle last year. Haven't seen anything on it again anywhere but you might try looking it up. It looked pretty good if you want that sort of thing. Personally I like the C5 just the way it is, but the ACP and Caravaggio bodies are not too bad. I've seen the German/Florida kit in person on a blue car from Connecticut. I'll be kind and say no comment.
I agree with the above post, I saw pics of a Gen 4 Vette with the Extreme kit. The guy mounted 15" wide rear tires, and 12" wide fronts. While the traction coefficient on that car was no doubt impressive with loads of grip, dear lord imagine the weight of wheels/tires relative to OEM. Looks wise the back end was like someone took the flared fenders off of a Ford F350 dually and mounted on a vette. Each to his own. The ACP kit looks good.
I might be interested in the above ACP. The extreme kits are made by Gieger, who has some far less extreme looking C6 Zs with twin turbos and a bright green and black paint job. The C6s look good with the extreme kits. If someone dropped a Maserati MC12 in my lap I'd be perfectly content as well

No offense, but the ACP kit is fugly. I couldn't care less how much time it spent in the wind tunnel...let it stay there. The Carravagio is nice but pricey. If your really interested in a wide body check out either TPE fenders and quarters or the L5's. They look like they belong on the vette. JMO

I've seen your car before, looks sic! Nothing fancy, just some added lines like a symmetric body builder! Makes it stand out for sure...looks like it came out of the factory
