I just put in some Corbeau FX1 seats in my 2001 and I love the feel of the seat but the position sucks. I am 6' 1" and I can barely see the tops of the cars in front of me, let alone a street light. I think if I remove the driver side sunshade it might help but the seat sits way to upright for someone over 6feet.
Has anyone modified their corbeau brackets to lay the seat back more or lower? They are so upright my head is hitting the top and it SUCKS!
Any ideas would be much apreciated. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and drive on winedy roads often so race seats make life soooooo much nicer, they just don't fit right.
Try putting 1/2" spacers between the seats and Corbeau rails on the two front seat mounts. (Not where the rails mount to the floor, but where the seat mounts to the rail.)
I bent the rear bracket tabs to lower them about 1/4", removed the sliders and bolted the seat directly to the mounting bracket to loose about 3/4" and also placed 3/4" of washers under the front bolts to tilt the seat back. With all that, the seat sits about 1" lower and is angled back a bit better but is completely non adjustable now (luckily it fits).
I still need to tilt it back more by extending the front tab of the mounting bracket down about 2". I would say these seats would be best suited for someone 5'10" or shorter. Even with the sunvisor removed I can't see stop lights or the tops of trucks in front of me.
I will post some pics when complete so people over 6' tall know what you may need to do
You might give these folks a call. They have a kit to mount to the stock power seat rails. Works with Sparco and Cobra for sure, a call wouldn't hurt I'm sure they'de be glad to help if possible. http://www.arizenracingsports.com/pa...zen/CTGY/C5-C6.

Thanks but it's not the bracket it is the seat its self. the bottom of the seat is about 1" off the ground in the back and I don't think there is much more to gain. I am going to have a firend cut up the bracket and raise the front and flip the rear tabs but I think it will still be pushing it. The bottom of the seat has a 1 1/2" mounting tab made of fiberglass so you can't cut it shorter...
