Any thoughts? I have searched for ever. Searched on Google, searched here(still having problems with the search function). The price for the TSP's is just crazy for a c5 car.
From what I have seen, LG streets and the TSP's are close, but not equal. It seems that some have problems installing the TSP's. The closest thread I found on this exact thing was here..
Also, these headers are not coated. What is the risk to the engine temps, 02 wires, steering column, etc with the extra heat of LT headers and not being coated?
Also, are both headers true "long" tube headers? Do both accept generic mid pipes?
I don't mean to beat a dead horse, just trying to spark a new conversation on this. Thanks
Mark

I have the tsp headers and really like them for the price compared to the lg headers. they were a little tough to install and your right they are not coated but my car is not a show car and they still look good from under the hood. They sound great with the Ti's that I have especially at wot. I've had them for two years now without any problems. I really dont know about the power increase because i went FI the same time.
they are true longtube
I personally disconnected my steering to put them on cannot remember if you need to or not
tsp sends out longer extensions for your o2 so you should'nt have any problems and really I havent had any heat issues
I did delete my cats
Overall i am very happy, however i have not used the lg's
I run coated tsp long tubes with 3" midsection. I bought them because they were about half what a lot of other headers cost. I had to cut my tunnel plate to allow clearance for the O2 sensors (I think their revised design eliminates this) but beyond that the install wasn't bad.
Did you try doing a search in the C5 Tech section? There are tons of header threads,,,or should I call them Header wars Probably the 2nd most debated topic on the forum other than the Column Lock.
All of the major brands, TSP, ARH, LG, Dynatech make about the same power. One might make 2 HP than another yadda yadda ..at the end of the day you are not going to feel that much difference. There are alot of dyno queens on here too that swear by one brand over the other, but you'll never see a TRUE side by side comparison. Too many varations in mods and tuning etc.
As far as coating the headers, it will not hurt anything if you don't..you will want to maybe add some plug boots to protect your wires, but it's not required persay. I coated mine because I like the look, and also it does help cut down quite a bit on heat in the engine compartment
charged, thanks! How loud is the car with the TI's?
Frank, thanks for the thorough reply. I've been reading for about a year on here, and I know that this topic is always debated. I have done many searches in the c5 tech sections, but the Search function isn't working that well.

darn search function yea I know, it's picky..some days I can get it to work and other days it doesn't
I put on some LG longtubes, street version. Did away with the cats, and have them going through corsa touring catbacks. The sound is awesome. My car is cammed so at idle it is very throaty, and choppy. It is pretty loud when called upon, but no drown or even much noise at all just cruising. No issues with heat....just ziptie the o2 senser lines up out of the way.
I put on LG LTs and ended up getting them uncoated because I didn't specify. My tuner said they made the most HP for the C5 so that's why I got them. Of course his reasoning is that they are capable of the most HP in a C5. That doesn't mean with my measly mods that they will be best for me. But I tend to mod a little at bit over time so some time it will probably be a good thing. I do not have any hard evidence that this is true. I've found it best to follow your tuners advice if you trust him and have seen him have success with others cars. I'm having some further work done and was thinking of pulling the headers and sending them out to be ceramic coated while the car was down but my tuner said I'd have better heat dissipation leaving them the way they are. He said they're actually better uncoated but many people prefer the look of the coated ones. Once again, I'm at his mercy for knowledge on this subject and I question this a bit but have left them uncoated (for now).

It actually not bad at idle, not to much louder than stock. However the more gas the better it sounds and at wot it sounds like its screaming in a good way.
Keep in mind i do not have cats and i dont know if it matters much but I do have a supercharger.
I wish it was a little louder at idle, but all in all i can hold a conversation driving down the highway and still be able to scare off some ricers when ever i need to
