Noobie question...please help
Hello all. I am in the market for a Vette and would like to find a Vette with a manual transmission. I have been looking around for a while and I have seen mostly automatics. Are there different models other than the Z06 (out of price range) that came with manuals?

very true. i've been eyeballing ebay for a while as well. i 've got a lot of leave days built up and would be willing travel. i've seen a few Z06s for around 21-23k. could just save a little longer.

Be a little patient,,you are just at the very early part of prime vet buying time!! Last January I got a very nice 2000 FRC with 55,500 mi. for $18,600 with dual zone climate and HUD,and Bose single CD. That was before the market went in the crapper. Winter is the time for good deals on vets(or any sports car). Lots of 6speeds of all types out there,,be a little patient and you should be able to find a 6speed to suit your taste for 20k. At this time of year look at Kelly Blue Book and N.A.D.A. and dont be afraid to start 3 to 5K under retail. Book was $23+k on mine,,They were asking $19,900,,,offered $18,800,,they accepted right off,,and was able to get another $100+ during the paperwork. They were able to save me another 3/4% on the loan as well. This is a great time of year to shop.Don't be insulting,,but don't be afraid to be aggressive with offers,,the worst case is they say no and make a counter offer,,then go from there..Have fun and good luck!!!

You could get the 6-speed in all body styles - it was an option on the coupe/vert and standard on the FRC/Z06. It just may take some more searching to find one.
