question: Doesn't using the FTP feature reduce HID life?

I'm considering rewiring my fog lights entirely. I have the Window Valet and whenever I use it my fog lights flash 3 times (since I have the light feature enabled for lock/unlock). I'd like to retain that feature but not have my fogs participate.

I also use my ftp to let a truck know its ok to come over.

I still have one of the first cars I ever bought stored away in an old barn. It's a Dodge Dayton ES with hideaway headlights. It's FTP feature causes the headlights to raise up and blink when you hit the switch. It's pretty sweet for Mopar.

The only thing I've used flash to pass for is my garage door opener.Man, I love this mod. My garage door controller was already 12volt so it was easy.I know theres a thread on this somewhere too.I just wired my GD remote into the green/white high beam wire by the right side headlight motor.

I use FTP out of frustration when waiting 2 miles for a semi to pass another semi that is going 1/2 mph slower than he. Usually when there is no traffic behind me for 2 miles. Illinois has laws on left lane usage. Oh I forgot, they are PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS.

LOL, I used to drive big rigs, so I gotta chime in here. A big rig has virtually NO acceleration available. It builds speed slowly. So it often can take an exceptionally long time to pass another rig.

We always used our FTP lights to signal a driver that had just passed us, that he was clear and it was now OK to swing back into the travel lane. That driver would typically acknowledge the FTP with a few flicks of his trailer lights, as he swung back in.

Then, guys like you could zoom on by..................

You are obviously a conscientious driver. I refer to those who can't wait 10 seconds before they pull out.

Now, say I have a Z06 and I add OEM foglights, will the car automatically use the fogs for FTP or is there rewiring involved?

No Buc, what's discourteous is idiots who stay in the passing lane doing 5 kms or miles below the speed limit.

I added fog lights to my Z with the stock setup (except I added HIDS) I have the stock fog/trunk switch installed so if I have my parking lights on, I can flash my fogs at people. But if its important to warn someone, then I just flip up my low beams. After they are up you can flash them as you please...

That's what I did with my fogs and when I use the FTP they sure get out of the way! Especially those Prius's

I personally like when sitting in crawling 5-10 mph traffic and the car behind me is giving me the FTP. 30 million cars in front of us and they think I am the cause of the delay.

There are laws in many states (including GA) where the left lane is a passing lane and it is illegal to not move out of the way of a faster car in the left lane or you could get a ticket. Not that it is EVER inforced, but it is a law.

Slow left lane drivers, MOVE OVER!

FTP-I wish it worked more often.

For C5 Vette owners, flash your foglights if you headlights are down, flash your high beams if they are up.

If i ever see that law enforced i might just pull over and give the cop a $100. Most of the time if you FTP in Ga the driver intentionally paces the other car so you can't pass.

Wow, the only time I use FTP is when I'm sayin "HOWDY" to someone I know that's coming at me. Jeese, hope I didn't pizz em off. What I meant to say was. "Pizz on em if it did." When I want to pass someone I mearly pass them. They'll know I did it when I pull in front of them.

Also, now illegal in Kali and most other states. You flash your lights, even to tell some idiot to lower his high beams, and you can be ticketed.
