good points,,the 6 front end is a bit of a smily face looking, I have one and would say it has taken me awhile to grow on me.
In person tho they do look nice. Some guys also hated the pop up lights but either way to me is fine they seem to be down most the time anyway and the ylook pretty killer coming up at night, regards, paul

pretty much my same thoughts on the C5 Vs C6. The sides and curves of the C6 are just to plain jane for me. I still get asked what year my car is all the time. Now the C6Z is a different story. Too bad they did not make all C6 with the Z body style.

Now that I am rolling into 3 months of ownership of an 09 my thoughts on both models. C5 is timeless in its design and has proven that the LSx platform is an awesome starting point. The C5 rides a little harsher and does not turn as fast as my 09 does. On stock motors the LS3 has so much more gurnt down low. On the interior I really like the interior much better in my 09. I like the carbon fibre and that I already have a DD in case I want to change my stereo (like you did), the seats are better than the sport seats in my C5 and they could still be better. I really look at my C6 as an C5 1/2, kind of like Honda Accords or Toyota Camary's, continous improvements over time

My wife and I were watching that program on factories that broadcast on Speed channel last night. I was explaining all the differences between the 6 series ZO6, and my '02 z. During the program, my wife said," if they've made all those improvements, shouldn't you buy one? When I regained consiousness, I told her, no thanks, but as great a car as the 6 is, I love the C5Z's roofline, and big *** too much. Besides, it's long paid for.

For the 40k to 50k to get into a used C6Z, I'd spend the money to mod the heck out of my C5. It's timeless smooth classical lines transcend generations. From the very young to the young at
heart it's looks always gets noticed.and never fails to garner it's share of compliments.

These are the types of opinions that should be welcomed with open arms on the forum. Whether you agree with them or not does not matter.
I cannot believe the pissing contests that can result from the simplest of posts.
Here is a person with first hand knowledge of both platforms, and willing to share his knowledge/opinion.
These ridiculous posts lately/forever get old fast.

Thanks and I love both my Vettes, my wish is I could afford the new ZR1 and have the top dog. But I feel fortunate to be able to own two great generations of Vettes
