Tranny problems!!
It all started with 6th gear making a clicking noise when i shifted into it and it felt like it was trying to kick it our. Now i cant even shift into 6th, and 5th gear is starting to do that same clicking noise and feeling like it wasnt to kick it out of gear. Some people say its the syncros, i have had person say it sounds like and adjustment problem.... any ideas before i take her into the shop?? thanks! i have an 04z w/ 30k miles

Sounds like a bad fork pad.
Rebuild time.

What would cause the fork pad to wear out at 30K?

Not so much wear out as they crack, they are made out of cheap plastic. RPM replaces with bronze, I think.

Could be a hard shift, or a real cold day and you jam the shifter to hard, etc ...
The fork pads are what lock and hold the fork in place. If the car keeps trying to jump out of gear this may be your problem.

They're cheap, however all of the labor to R&R the tranny is going to be high.
Don't know how old your clutch set-up is but it's probably a good idea to update that at the same time.
RPM can handle tranny rebuild for you and I would recommend them based on my own personal experience with them.

They're in Indiana. They send you a Fed-Ex ticket and you just drop tranny off, they fix it and send it back.
Elsewise I find a local vette shop and they can do work and send it out to RPM for work.
Gulfcoast Corvette (Jason & Steve) may be near you and do excellent work.
