Has anyone been able to remove the plastic lens from the corner lights?
I'm considering building an LED array that would fit inside the lens. It would be made of 1/8" acrylic so my strobes would still work and I plan to wire in resistors and diodes to make the LED Array function as the DRLs.
I was followed to school by a black Z06 and i really liked how bright his front corner lights were. I want mine to be just as bright, but gloss black when I turn them off.
I have a guy taking mine off, he uses a heat gun, says it takes awhile, lot of patience, but they will go...he has done a couple of headlights (Mercedes, not vette) this way, and has had good success...didn't know if you had tried that since last time I saw a post on the subject, someone tried to put them in the oven...
I did a set of Mark VIII headlights with a heat gun. Took a while, but they came apart nicely. Just have to take your time, and watch to make sure you don't get the plastic too hot.

....yes this is yet another solution to blackouts
No, but I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
I used to use a heat gun to melt shoe polish to shine my boots when I was in the Army. You have to be careful as they get hot fast and can easily burn whatever you are working on.
