With the key on and motor off, my oil pressure gauge reads 80 psi. when engine is on, oil pressure reads 130 psi, though the computer gauge. Any ideas on how going about trouble shooting?
Having a similar problem with my 99, as soon as I turn the key on , it jumps to 130 psi, some engineer at GM must have stayed up real late one night thinking how he could hide the sensor and drive us crazy, good luck SLB

And if you can't find any info using the search, I have some Word files that talk about the bad sending unit and how to relocate it for easier access. Just PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward them to you.
Arrrgggghhh!! The oil pressure sender gremlin strikes again!! I'm right there with you bro. The sender on my 98 coupe just took a dive too. I replaced the one on my 97 2yrs ago, so here we go again!!! Another saturday and a 6 pack!! gosh darn no good son of a buck!!!
do a search on the forum. There's a couple of nice "how to's" with idiot proof pictures!! Even a knucklehead like me could tackle it with their help. Good luck, may the force be with you!
