I've got a question regarding the accessory power feature...

I have my valet set to keep accessory power on after opening doors and to turn on when unlocking by three unlock's on the FOB.

When I turn the car off, the C5 keeps the radio going as it always has. However, when I open the door, the power is cut off to the radio and it comes back on after about 5 seconds or so.

Is this normal behavior for the WV?

I called Top Down Technologies directly and they confirmed that this is normal behavior for the Window Valet.

Yes it is....the WV is simply activating accessory power on your car...When the door is opened it is cut off by the car, not the valet.

See ya,

One of the first toys I bought for my Vette and love it. Black Vette in the summer, a must!

Easy as pie...just plug it into the OBDII port under the steering wheel.

Thanks,
Dave

Default What is the OBDII port?

Jim,

What is the OBDII port? Do I have to remove part of the dashboard or steering column to get to it, or is it just there to plug into like a cigarette lighter?

Thanks,
Colin in Austin

Not a thing to remove. It's just under the steering column. Get you head down to floor level and look up at the lower part of the steering column and you will see it. I can uninstall and reinstall mine in about 5 seconds.

A must have item for me. Got mine from Jim a couple of years ago and love it.

Should be great for summer in FL.

I got mine today, installed and programmed. Piece of cake when you follow instructions. Way COOL!

I have to weigh in on this great product. After owning this for a couple years, my windows recently would go up, and then would reverse back down as if an obstruction was an issue (but there was actually no obstruction). I ran the 'relearn' procedure, and all is good again, no other work required.

My point is, someone engineered this very well to include a level of sophistication to allow the relearn to fix the issue. As others have said, especially if you have a vert, you need this device.

Default window valet

Your site states the valet is for 2005 to 06. I have a 07 Z06. Are we good to go?

I installed mine yesterday. The feature for raising and lowering the wndows is great. However it is also supposed to unlock the doors when you lift the parking brake, and i can't get that feature to work. I have a 2000 convertible.

Very interesting. I think the only two features I'd like are the window and top-speed features. The rest I doubt I'd use, but either way worth the price.

My question is, how does the OBDII control the windows??? Are the C5/C6 windows linked to the computer somehow?

Recieved the window Valet, shipped over the long weekend up to canada and it was still here in less than a week. Took about 30 seconds to install and program. Great customer service. Thanks Jim....
