Absolutely Perfect + Absolutely Worthless = Bummer

I don't know, are you an addition or a subtraction to the C5 Forum?

The car looks great the way it is, I am sure it is just as nice on the inside as it is on the outside. I hope you don' ruin its value by ripping out the interior and putting an Audi interior in it, but it's your car and I guess you can do whatever you please.
IMO, I think the former owner would be shocked at your plans though.

I was drawing a comparison - in THIS thread, we have an owner of a '98 Pace Car that believes he has found a treasure. In the other thread, we have an owner of a '98 Pace Car that thinks any car - even limited edition cars are fodder for what some think is creative fantasy.
Don't you listen to these people. You have failed and need to redeem yourself. I've checked the rules and found an escape clause for you.
What a pal I am.You must except the first offer of funds (that would be mine) of 100 dollars and sell the car, to said person now. Did I mention, that would be me?
Your address is needed to send funds and I'll even throw in an extra 50 for you to deliver it to my home, After the snow stops, of course.
Congrats, on a great find.
Sorry about the snow.....

How did you go about loading it into the trailer and securing it?
After seeing a few auction attempts end I contacted Brandon to ask some questions. Through that correspondence I learned Brandon was an agent for the seller, and I learned about how eccentric the wealthy guy is, including all the extra stuff that came with the car. They listed the car a couple more times and it still did not sell, I made an offer, and they took it.
The fleabay auction pictures were nice, but they missed an opportunity to list the car in a way that was appealing (no good mention or pictures of documentation, history, extra stuff, etc.). None of that was clear until I started talking to Brandon over the phone.
The rich guy flew up from one of his Florida homes on Friday, and drove up to his lake house to meet me yesterday, which is where the car was stored.
Many (if not all) of the fleabay cars are for sale by dealers. I just got lucky and fond a 1-owner for sale by the owner himself...

I put the top down and had my wife guide me in so I was centered between the trailer wheel wells. Once I had the car positioned, I removed my shoes and carefully got out of the car by stepping on the seat. Coupes are a little more tricky...you have to roll the window down and do a slow-motion Dukes-of-Hazard exit.
As far as tying the car down I was always taught not to target any suspension pieces for your strap hook. So you have to find a point on the frame and pull the car (slightly) down to tension the load. With the C5 I could not find anywhere to hook my strap, so I ended up using the 4 jack holes on the side of the frame and criss-crossed the straps.
Left Front jack hole tied to right front trailer eyelet
Right Front jack hole tied to left front trailer eyelet, same thing for the rear.
I'm not sure if that's the exact perfect way to do it, but it worked fine for me. The straps had no negative contact with anything under the car, and the load was tight the whole way home.
