Stock catback/exhaust removal?

Stock catback/exhaust removal?

I have read many posts that the simple way to do this is a lift, because you have to be able to lift the car in the air a minimum of 30".

Now my question is:

I have a buddy the owns a Quick lube, so he has 3 bays that have drive over pits.

Will this drive over pit idea work?

the stock C5 exhaust is a POS, I would just cut it off and throw it away

may not work because of the way you have to twist the exhaust as it comes out.. just cut it off... you can always have it welded back together if for some reason you want to re-install it... I have successfully removed stock C5 exhaust on 3 occasions using a jack, block of wood, and adjustable jack stands, so it is possible to do on the garage floor... you just have to remove the sway bar brackets... not a big deal at all

Yes, it woked great for me. I installed my Z06 TI's on a drive over pit.

You only need about 3 feet of clearance below. No need to cut the stock system to remove it either.

I really don't want to cut it, it's the TI's.....
