I repainted my nose and headlight covers too. I'm currently wetsanding and buffing as time (during the Christmas season) allows. She won't be back together for many moons as I'm moving on to a custom rear clip project involving a specter werkes rear fascia and some more custom glass work.
Looking good!!!! Are you going to airbrush anything in there?
Right now, 100% black. As black shows every flaw etc., I'm using black to make sure I get everything right and then, when I'm all done fabricating parts for the outside and stereo, I will complete a full repaint on her in a two-tone theme with airbrush work included.
There is serious merit to the street rod philosophy that, "You have to paint it black before you can paint it".
Looks great. What material did you make them from?
The parts are home-made with epoxy resin and epoxy mat. I bonded my parts to the oem rockers with 2-3 layers of fiberglass cloth strips and Lord Fusor 100EZ where they touch the rocker.
I really need to learn how to make molds and parts using a vacuum bagging process. Santa?
