Just purchased a CD changer from another Forum member.I have a 98 vert with the factory Bose Cd deck and would like to install this changer. Is there a fixed location in the back well that I install this in and is the wire harness normally already installed in my car so that I can plug and play?
You may consider placing it in one of the smaller side tubs incase you ever want to run a subwoofer.
Check the center tub aft wall. There might be a cable coming in from the right (passenger side) of the car. If the car was not optioned with a CD player, I doubt the cable will be there. I think all the cars have the harness that runs from the back of the radio to the passenger side foot well. The second half of the cable connects there and runs the rest of the way back.
There are brackets that are bolted to / through the aft part of the tub that hold the player in place.
Here is a picture that I took when I was installing the insulation in the back of the car.

Yup, that is the best place to put it. I moved mine over to make room for a stealth sub enclosure...works out nice and you can locate the amp against the rear bumper right behind the sub...looks factory and easy to do.
