Hood question
I have 1000 to spend on a hood. I like carbon fiber but it is usually expensive.
I found this hood 700 for a carbon fiber hood? Why is it so cheap is it junk??

From what I know the MCM hood is the best cf hood around, but 1g wont get you one.

This is going to be a "you get what you pay for" deal I believe. I would stick with what has been proven to not have fitment and quality issues.

FOR 699 it's probably not "real" carbon fiber but something else, like the hydrocarbon process or something to "look" like CF. BTW, have you seen a CF on a car, in the bright sunlight? Personally, I think they look ugly, man... no match for a nice paint job...

I know the MCM is nice, but a little over my price range. I like the carbon fiber look. its for my black c5 z.
how can i tell if its fake carbon fiber or not. because the hood itself runs for about a grand, but i saw one on ebay for cheaper.
is there a way to tell if its legitimate carbon fiber?

The ad says "Satisfaction Guaranteed", If you decide you are going to purchase that hood from them find out before you purchase exactly what "Satisfaction Guaranteed" means and get it in writing and make sure you purchase with a credit card.

VIS is a reputable brand when it comes to CF. The quality is great, just need to play with it a little, just like aligning anything else.
And its satisfaction guaranteed, so return it if it's not up to your standards.

I know the MCM hood is more than double that price, but I can attest that the quality and fit of the MCM hood is absolutely first rate.
