Sounds absolutely legit man. He is just trying to help his client out. It's so unfortunate that they had a death in the family. Might as well send him a $5000 personal check now so they can better arrange shipping arrangements and then when your $21,000 check arrives then you keep the whole thing. You sure lucked out, they are taking care of shipping arrangements and everything.
His 21,000 check will bounce and you will be out the 6,000 bucks you sent to him..This an OLD OLD SCAM..!!!!!!!!!! RUN RUN VERY FAST FROM THIS ONE>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make this scammer waste his time and money. It costs these guys to print up these checks! String him along for a day or two to waste his time. Tell him you'll take the deal, and have him send you the check first. At that point tear it up, or (better still) take the check to the local law authorities so they can maybe shut this scammer down.
Scary stuff... I ran an ad on Craigs List awhile back for a rental property I had. Scam artists came out of the woodwork - This time they sent me a "Cashiers check" for the deposit/rent but included the cost for the movers and furniture rental. They requested that I wire my real money to the movers/furniture rental company and cash their check but it had to be right away because time was running short you see. Total crap.... I googled the addresses I was able to collect from them and viewed them on google earth. They were all over the place and either warehouses or out in the middle of nowhere.
you tell them that you'll take the deal, the car is in "storage" and you need a day or so to get it ready.
but you DO have some extra accessories that you were going to include with the car that you can ship him right now, along with the check for $5000.00
you put a pipe bomb in the box and ship it out, when the POS scammer opens the box, BOOM!
This is a double scam, some people actually send the difference, in your case 6k. Then the scammer has all your info. They will have a fake sale on a car and give the buyer all your contact info.
Even the 700 club,,the right wing religious program had a segment that was almost verbatim (just some minor variations) with a woman that was trying to sell her BMW!!(DON'T ASK)
