I dont like it, because everytime I want just the fan on, the ac will come on as well, put the heat on for a little and it puts it to defrost... etc.. never does what i want. I just like the old easy to use *****.. and not all the fancy stuff.
all my other cars I have had, you just turn the ***** and it works fine, maybe its just me

I have always been able to turn off the AC while still running the vent with fan. If the mode is switching to defrost it sounds like there is something wrong with your unit. Have you checked the DIC for diagnostic codes?
