Default Looking at exhaust Cat back type

Guess I'll be getting a 02 Z06 in a few weeks. Its bone stock. I was looking at cat back exhaust from borla. and there seem to be many types of cat back exhaust made. What one seems to be a proven winner for added HP?

Well thats ok. Im mainly looking for a good sound too. And whatever less restriction I can make. because i'll be eventually putting my procharger on it from my 2000 ls1. and im not going to change the pulley out so it would be nice to have any less back pressure I can make.

The stock exhaust is supposed to flow very good. It won't sound as aggressive compared to the Borla system.

I have put a cat-back on every vehicle I've ever owned, but not my Z06. It will likely add 25 lbs, and will not free up any additional power unless you move to a 3" system and you're big cubic-inch or forced induction.

I want a better sound, but I'm going to see how the stock cat-back sounds with headers. If it doesn't live up to par, I'll deal with 25 lbs to have a good tone. My current favorites are the Borla 4 tip stingers and GHL bullets.

If your looking for great sound and excellent craftsmanship check out a GHL system. They are hand made and sound amazing IMO.

The only exhaust I would consider besides the already excellent stock Ti would be the LG Big 3" system.

Here's my two favorites. I ended up with the GHL's.

Default my choice

B and B PRT's all the way. No drone, very livable at cruise and normal driving. But put your foot into it and they wake right up.

I would say the Corsa Xtreme, sounds good at cruising and no drone inside the car and WOT sounds like waking a sleeping monster.

Borla Stingers is the best compromise of them all in my opinion. Awesome sound, looks great...doesn't add much weight...very well built with lifetime warranty.

Corsa Competition Ti. They don't make them any more but once in a blue moon they pop up used. One of the very few that weigh (a lot) less than stock. Sounds wicked at WOT with no drone at all at cruising speeds.

There is also a street version that has a second small set of mufflers in the stock location in addition to the ones that are on the Competition system.
