When i turn on my car it runs fine, but when i turn on my AC there is a squeeking sound coming from the AC unit. and when i turn it off the squeeking stops. could my AC be going out or is it a problem with my belt? Any help would be much apreciated.
Yes my AC is still working. i replaced my belts about a year ago. and i went to the store and bought some belt spray. it made it worse to begain with but it sounds better than before but i can still hear it. I know that spraying it is only a temporary fix.

There is an A/C idler pulley also. That may be the cause of the squeak.
I've noticed that belts "cherp" more in the cold months. If it's the belt, don't use the spray stuff. The belts usually cherp because they are greasy or dirty.Take some powder cleanser like Comet and put a spoon full on the pulley grooves while the engine is off. After you fire it up,the cleanser will clean off the belt & pulley.
