Mounting Rear View Camera
My wife has an Infinity with a rear view camera mounted just above the license plate..
So looking at the vette I discovered hat it has just enough space to accommodate a camera and its mounting base just like the Infinity.
So next was to figure out how to hold it in place.
So as I was disassembling things today looking into the problem I noticed that the back of the license plate base had two nubs, where the license plate ...So....I came up with this....
The plate holder. notice the nubs

The bracket..made from a piece of light gauge strap..bent to about 45deg on teh top...~9.5 in long total

Mating the bracket to the back of the plate..

The whole assembly in its final location

Now with the camera in place....Ill paint the bracket black so it disappears

looking setup...but why would you want a backup camera on a vette?
i mean the back bumper is less than a foot from the back glass. it's one of the few cars you can backup and see the whole back area.

Nice install. I have a pile of parts on the workbench awaiting a dose of energy to put in a DD Avic Z. Included is a backup camera. It may be as useful as the Performance Hood Seal, something new to play with... kinda like the Avic voice controls. Can't have too many gadgets, ya know.
I purchased my vetter with the flip up screen, has a camera mode. In the trunk is a wire that looks identical to a telephone cable and end. Assume this must be for a camera, but the connection is odd.

Nice job...

In this picture you will notice that my setup is a little bit tricky with the camcorder involved

His work looks like quality work though. Hes using a pen light shaped camera Vs a "square block type.
Im using a Kenwood CCD2000

I used it today for the first time..backing into a space....I could get right up to the wall w/o worring about a bump...Id like to figure out how to calibrate this so I can better determin side tolerances..and eventually put one up front. My unit supports two AV inputs...
And teh view is the same as FactoryRaceCar's

Come on Santa!
Have you seen that Lexus commercial where their suv backs up besides a pool, and a cliff? Seems they have a 'all around' camera system.
