I am about to go insane. There is a pulley on the motor that is making a squeaking sound and it gets louder the more RPM you throw at it. I've tried dousing it in WD-40 but the sound keeps coming back.
Do i have to pull this thing off and put some special grease on it or something?
Depends on the source of the noise. If it is coming from the bearings of an idler pulley or tensioner, I would replace the whole thing.
If you are saying the belt is making the noise, you should not be spraying the belt with anything other than water. You are not even supposed to use belt dressings on serpentine belts. They can deteriorate the belt and actually make the noise worse.
If the belt is the problem, replace the belt.
You might also look for mis-aligned pulleys, or dampener coming loose.
It's definitely the pulley, as the belt is pretty much brand new. I sprayed wd40 on the front and rear of it and the noise will stop momentarily but when I go to drive when i get up in to the rpms the noise will come back. I did get some on the belt accidentally and it made the noise a lot worse (for a bit) but it stopped. anyway... i'm dropping it by the dealership tomorrow to throw it on a lift so i'll have them check it out.
I had the same thing , but mine was that i wasnt using the verte enough had the mechanic put some white lithium grease on the belt, very little in fact, the noise went away, last time i started the verte it did the same thing, good luck, keep us informed,
