Test the relay first to make sure you are not getting 12 volts to the motor. Some notes here say that if you hear a click, you have a bad relay. I would think if you hear the relay click, that means it is closing, and the motor is getting current.
A few forum members have improved their window systems by using a better quality relay, but I still think the majority of windows that quit working are due to the motor sticking.
I could hear my relays click, but the window would not go down. I replaced the window regualtor assembly, and the window immediately began working. There are theories that since the regulator assy. does not have a limit switch, that the motors tend to get a dead spot on the rotor that makes them quit working, especially if you use the auto down mode. According to reports, the auto down mode can fail to release and the motor can over heat quickly. I never use this mode anymore unless I reverse the switch and make sure I hear the relay release. Mostly, I just hold the switch down and lower it in the manual mode so I know when it releases.

If you cannot hear the relay click in the door when you push the button, then it is possible that you have a bad relay, or power is not getting to the relay. Do all the other door functions work, like door locks?

This happened to my '04 Z last month only the window would not go down. I was able to get the window moving by using the "Slam & Pray" technique mentioned in the post linked above...to my astonishment, it worked! I hated slamming the door that hard but beats having to take the door panel off...

Interesting note, the same thing happens to my '82 once or twice a year; only I have to take the door panel off and hit the motor with a rubber mallet . Once I had to "de-fib" the motor with a 12V battery charger (no kidding)...it works!
