Default Headers

Okay before I ask the question I did do a search but it didn't answer my question. I want some headers I know about the top 3 (Kooks, ARH & LG pros). Right now they have the special for LG Streets it has been said that you lose HP w/ the Streets once you go w/ FI or a H/C, my question is how much would I lose compared w/ if I went with any of the three listed above. I have a 2000 A4 w/ a Vararam intake and Borla Stingers. I plan to go w/ either a H/C or a SC hopefully sometime w/in the next year. I haven't gone to the track although I may every now and then, basicly this will be a street car. Any help would be appreciated.

You won't lose power with any good LT headers.

I love my LG Pros.

You wont lose hp with the streets but you wont get the full potential out of your mods with them like you would with the Pros since the Pros are a 3" header.

The difference between the streets and pros won't be SOTP noticeable unless you make a ton of power.

LG Streets added about 31 RWHP to a stock '99 LS1, this is with their cats and X pipe. Others have seen closer to 40 with the Pros. Bang for the buck, the streets work well for me, more so with the H/C work that was done last year.

I think if you are looking for max power and if you decide to do a SC setup, you will want to get a set of 1 7/8" LT. If you are sticking with N/A then the 1 3/4 streets will work just fine.

Just get the KOOK's 1 7/8 I have them on my 2004 A4. You will not regret it. There is so much BS on here about loosing low end torque hp with 1 7/8. Get a good tune and you will be loving life. Ed Hutchings just did a long post about this. It is worth your time to read the post.

The LG Streets are designed for either stock or lightly modified engines. They will make more hp than stock exhaust, but if you plan to do bigger mods in the future (S/C or H/C), then you won't see the full benefit from the Streets. It's not that you'll LOSE hp, it's that you won't increase as much as if you had the Pros, ARH, or Kooks. If you're going for big numbers, the 1-7/8 instead of 1-3/4 is the answer, but that rules out LG Pro (they are 1-3/4). The only 1-7/8 are ARH or Kooks.

There are plenty of recent threads on the ARH product. It is a good choice.

Just do a search om ARH in both the titles and text and you will get back plenty of reading material...............

As stated, a 1 7/8 setup with S/C is great. I went from an ARH 1 3/4 to an ARH 1 7/8 on my S/C setup and gained 15...also a great tune will maximize the setup.
