Default Road Rash!

Any one know of anything to protect against road rash from rocks on the highway? I love driving my Z but it seem like every time I take it on road trips the road is getting the best of my paint along the Driver/Passenger side right below the door and on the back rear fender.

After 89 k miles I have learned to use the tried and true method. I ignore it and pretend it isn't there.

Wear leathers! FYI: Kangaroo skin is much lighter than cowhide!

And when you accidently see it, take it to the next level and just decide you don't care.

Just a result of actually enjoying the car. You could "garage queen it" and it would stay all pretty and nice. Not!!!!!!!!!!!

They make clear front bras for most cars, can't some of this material be applied to these spots also???

(Don't have my Z06 yet, but will be just as **** for car care as I was on my RX-7!!!)

They sell a clear vinyl in highly exposed areas of the car like driver and passeneger mirrors, side vents, front clip, etc...

I think we're all in the same boat man. It sucks, but after a while you have no choice.

I drive a black '04 z06, and it has been my daily driver. With about 60k miles now it can be sometimes hard to look at in direct sunlight But you can only do so much. These cars sit so low that they are exposed to a lot of rocks/dirt and stuff while driving. The areas around my wheel wells hurt my eyes, and the whole rocker panel area (the strip under the door and the rear brake vents), oh my I don't even want to look at them.

I just wax it often and hope to minimize it. After a couple more years I will probably repaint it, lol.

But just accept the fact that your car is like a pair of shoes. You want to keep it clean, but eventually it's going to show its wear and tear on the paint.

My black Z06 had it horrible and I'm sure my red one will have it bad too eventually.

It doesn't bother me one bit though, honestly. I mean, sure, I'd rather it not be there, but I'm absolutely love driving my car and I'm not going to let some rock chips stop me from driving it

When it gets bad enough, make it into an autocross/track car and buy a new C6Z. Then when the new C6Z gets mucho road rash, sell the C5Z, make the C6Z into the track car and buy a new C7Z...
