X3 is pretty big for a DD, maybe you should consider X1. other then that enjoy the new power!

one thing I regret doing when I did my X3, I pulled the heads to do lifters also, I regrets not getting the heads atleast ported.
It can be daily driven, imo its right on the edge, what makes or break the car's is drivibility is when you a big cam combined it with an grabby clutch.

If I had the money i'll go little smaller on the cam, like a X1 or X2, an nice set of heads combined with the fast.

Define your power goals then you can pick your cam. I would pick your heads first then tailor your cam to that, and not the other way around (I think this is a mistake that many/most, including myself, make)

I just had an g5x4 cam installed by LGM. I very pleased with my cam, its a little extensive for a daily driver(its a weekend warrior though). But it pulls like a raped ape from 2900 rpm all the way to redline. I highly recommend LG's work, and customer service is top knotch.

Well im just lookin to pick up some more power but not to much to have to do heads, everyone tells me that the Zo6 heads are the best flowing heads that you can have with a pretty good cam, and Lgm are the guys i have decided to let do my work!!!

K, so if you aren't doing heads, what do you want to make power wise. The difference between making 415rwhp and possibly 430rwhp is a huge jump in cams

One thing you're going to have to consider is putting new valve springs on. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the ls6 springs are good to a .575" lift or somewhere around that.

No, G5X1 for a daily driver. The G5X2 isn't much tamer than the X3 for drivability.

If the car is cammed and you are talking about stock LS6 heads. A properly ported, shaved, and valve jobed set of LS6 heads will be within 5 hp of the AFR heads for nearly half the price.

I haven't see any "budget" LS6 head on the same level as AFR. Something in the 228-232 range will be a lot better for a daily driver.

No doubt the AFR's will be a bit superior to budget heads, so in some sense you get what you pay for. There are also more expensive LS6 heads that have been proven to be on par with the aftermarket offerings but many of them are not cheap either. I guess it all depends on how much more the end user wants to pay for those extra few HP

Just went to your website and looks like you have a nice market niche.
Since you sell Patriot, AFR and Trickflow perhaps you could enlighten us by posting an impartial dyno comparison with the same engine b/t the Patriot heads and it's comparable aftermarket alternative.

You're talking about a different cam. The one he is referring to is an LG cam, not a VR cam. The G5X3 is in the 240's duration and is very large for a daily driver.
