Default 18's all around Help

Am looking at some 18x10.5 wheels and am concerned this may cause issues with the traction control............ but I really like the wheels offered up by LG. Anybody run these and how did you get around the T/C issue. I think it's got something to do with tire height but am not for sure. As usual thanks in advance And Happy New year to Alllll !!

I have 18X9.5 with 275/35/18s and 18X10.5 rears with 293/35/18s and NO issues with TC.

Putting 265/40's and 275/40's on mine. Right now I have the same size tires on all four and YES the traction control comes on and scares the CRAP out of me. It actually jolts and slows the car down on the highway. I need to remember to turn it off for the time being.

TC has to do with the circumferance of the tire, not the wheel size. As long as you keep the ratio of the front and rear tires the same as stock, you'll be fine.

Try this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Hoping that 255/40zr18 fronts and 295/35zr18 rears willl work. Sometimes I like that t/c.......... heck I like it all the time, hate to have this baby start acting up just because of new shoes it may not like.

What size are your front wheels? I dont believe a 255 will fit on a 10.5 in wide rim.

I run 285/35/18's up front and 305/35/18s in the rear on 18x10.5/18x11.5 wheels. Been running that setup for 4 years now at all kinds of speeds from 0-183 and in all kind of road conditions, never once had any traction control issues. Speedometer is set perfectly as well.

Are you saying the 255 may be to narrow for the 10.5 rim?

Definetely too small, you need a 275/35 to fit properly.

I've had 18's all around since I went to my HRE's in '01. Also, FWIW, I actually slap on 17" CCW's when I have taken her to the track and I never ever have traction control issue coming out of turns.
