I'm looking at a 2002 convertible to purchase, it has a black top. I had an 2003 with a tan top so I'm going by that car on how the top should look. The support bars on the 2002 seem to protrude more than my 2003. The 2002 bars look more like an old style top back in the days before the double layers of material. Do you think it is because it is black as opposed to the tan color ?
i have a 02 vert w/only 10k on it, black top. from all the vert tops ive seen no matter what color - the black might appear as bars are showing abit more - but their not. also, the black will show wear at those bar pressure points sooner i think.
My 02 Vert has a black top (45,000 miles) and doesn't appear to show much wear from the support bars. Although I guess it depends if it is garaged and the effects from direct sunlight high temps like you would see in Phoenix perhaps. Just my .02 worth.
I've been told the black will show fold marks more than the other colors, I have slight fold marks with 15000 miles and I always put the top back up when in the garage ... I agree the bars seem to show more than the white, or tan or ... is there others ?
Hey guys I really appreciate all of the opinions. This car has less than 10,000 miles on it and does stay in the garage when not being driven. Thanks a lot
