For your '98 it's where GHL4505 indicates above:
Actually, for newer C5's, it's at the end of the tubing assembly in the illustration below - just under the arrow. It's on the top/front/passenger side of the engine next to the intake manifold.

GHL4505's pic and ID are correct. That is your PCV valve. I confirmed it in the '98 manual view of the left side of the engine. It's got an O-ring inside the valve cover.

Any idea how to remove that pastic cap? I tried, but was afraid I'd break it. It's stuck on there pretty good.

I changed my PCV a couple of years ago on my 98 and it was in the tubing on the "passenger side". Do I have a newer C5 motor and not know it???

Removed that and there is nothing in there. I'm beginning to think it is on the passenger side INSIDE of the tubing.
