Has anyone done this on their Vette? I was thinking of buying a aftermarket deck... but if I can do it as easy as this then I dont see a point in buying the deck

Mmmmmm. I did that and never had that problem. Hooked it up in place of the CD carrier in the back.

I've had mine for over a year now, with no problems at all....
While I had the console out I put some insulation under the console
I remover the heat/air controls and radio to make it easy, total of 8 screws.
40 min.from start to finished I'll never have to carry CD's again!!

I have wired a aux jack into the front of my stereo like the link i posted "ipod hack" the only thing is you have to have a cd in the radio when the ipod is plugged in and the ipod plays crystal clear with no problems I have an Ipod touch if that helps!!!
