I have a C5 98 and the other day started my car and noticed that the oil gauge was sitting on 80. When I start up the car it goes from 0-80 and than starts back to normal than goes straight back to 80. Any Ideals? I tried looking for the oil sending unit but couldn't find it.

does your gauge read 80psi when the car is off. if it does then you have to take the intake manifold off to replace the oil pressure sensor.
It's most likely an oil pressure sensor failure. Seems to happen a lot on these cars; to myself included.
If your gauge still reads 80 PSI even when the engine is off (but key turned to "ON", then it's almost certain to be the sensor.
There is a sticky at the top of the C5 Tech section detailing this, as well as how to relocate the sensor so if it breaks again, you can easily replace it.
I just replaced my oil pressure sensor and it's all fixed, for now. I had it replaced with a GM sensor a year ago and it went bad a week later. Not sure if it's the GM sensors or the whole system just not working with them right. Look for any aftermarket brand sensor if you do replace it.
You can check the DIC and see if it says something stupid like 140 psi on there. If it does then it's not your gauge and most likely the sensor. Check the thread mentioned in the other post for more details.
