Default flush mount / tail light seal question (pics)

i ordered the flush mount/tail light seal combo from a vendor.. i had a few questions for those that have either one of them, or both of them.. havent contacted the vendor about this yet; i'd like to see what you guys think

1- does the seal go all around the tail light, or just from screw-to-screw? mine goes screw-to-screw, leaving the top half of the tail light exposed, and im positive water will go in from there, especially more since i use a high pressure washer when i wash my vette. not happy with that.
2- does the top half stick out a bit when the flush mount is installed? mine does a tiny bit, but noticeable, even though i screwed them in as far as they go..
3- how do you guys like it, i think im gona go to stock...i really liked stock, I just purchased this kit for the tail light seals basically, which didnt end up what i expected anyway..

screw-to-screw tail light seal

top half that sticks out a bit

rest looks ok.. is this how they sit?

thanks

I have the seals but not the flush mount. The seal should go all the way around the circumference of the lens so you get a nice clean seal. The whole idea is the seal keeps water, dust, etc out from where it is such a PIA to get to and clean.

I wouldn't suspect any part of the lens should stick out but rather it should be flush with the body. I'm wondering if you have some of the seal that got behind the top part of the lens and is pushing it out.

Good luck......

The seal goes all the way around the tail lights. I made my own seals from Lowes, Bought weather seal for like 5 bucks and there was enough to do 5 cars I bet...lol
I had my tails flush mounted and they stuck out at the top also, You could cut the spacers back a bit to help with that prob, I just bought a set of Halo Tails and removed my flush kit. I like it better than when they were flush.
Just my opinion.

The seals go completely around. The taillights do stick out a smig not significant amount. Leave them on for awhile it will grow on U.
I love mine now and no dirt on the lower lip. Nor water drips after washing.

I cut 3/8" off my posts because I wanted the tailights to match the depth of the third brake light;

The 1/2 seal will work fine if you do another east mod!! I'd seen it here before,,and tried it myself. While the lights are out take a drill with a small diameter bit and drill a hole or two in the low point in the opening at the lip.Lets the water drain out better, then the lower seal will jist be insurance no residual drops can't work back out!! I did this and have yet to install the seals as of yet (mine also go all the way round)!!

Before I bought a set of seals from a vendor on the forum I got a set like yours on the auction site that only went half way. Needless to say I threw the ebay ones in the trash.

well the vendor took back the flush mount as an exchange for the tail light seal.. i dont get it, this thing doesnt prevent any sort of leak.. the instructions said to put the seal as far back as you can in the tail light hole (in the bumper) then put the tail lights back in.. there is still a gap between the bumper and the lights where water accumulates during wash.. what a waste of $$$.. $20 + god knows how much for shipping.
