Non runflat tire help needed
Hey Guys I am sure that this subject has been beat to death, but until now
I didn't pay any attention. I have a '01 Vert with Run Craps and would like
to switch non run craps... 1st how does the GM fix it kit work, would you
recommend it.. ... 2nd if not what do you recommend.... 3rd what tire do you
think would preform the best for my Vert. I don't do too much drag racing but love the twisties.... Last should I use the tire sensors, if not how do I deal with Tire Mon Systen, can it be turned off? Any ideas, tips and avvise would be greatly appricated............. Jim
I switched to Pilot Sports last year. Love 'em. No problems with the tire monitors, although if you ever have to use the "fix a flat" goop, I'm told they'll no longer function and will need to be replaced. We carry the kit from the Z06 when we travel in the coupe, but all you really get with the stock kit is a little compressor and the "fix a flat" stuff, which you should be able to find at Pep Boys. I've never had to use the kit, other than to use the compressor to pump up the tires on my '93....
I've also switched to non runflats and am very happy. I carry a compressor, tire plug kit, and cell phone. I would definitely leave the sensors in. They will provide you with warning if you ever start to lose tire pressure. I have the G-Force KD's and am very happy with the performance.
