Default Show and display suggestions

This weekend is the Motor Trend Auto Expo and several local Corvettes from the Corvette Club will be on display. I am looking forward to being involved, but would like some suggestions on proper display etiquette. I have the original window sticker and thought that may be nice on the window, and thought I would include my "Vette bear (in C5 t-shirt). Open hood or no? Top on or off? Windows up or down? Your suggestions are appreciated. Additionally, what is your favorite "on the spot" detailing spray? THANK YOU!!!

s this a Shine & show? Is it a NCCC sanctioned show? How will it be judged? It does make a difference on how to set up the car. If it is a wash & shine type show, things like rock chips are not to be deducted. Hints,
1. top off, hood & trunk open.
2. Things like original window sticker, build sheet, displayed in trunk (hatch) area.
3. Doors open, windows down. (be sure windows are clean along with mirrors (sun visor mirrors too). This can break a tie if judging is close.
4. Glove box & center console open & clean. Glove box has owners manual only in it. (clean & shine the cover n the book also).
5. Gas door open & clean. ( again helps if close in judging) I have won just because my gas door was open & clean vs. another car. I have also lost (2nd place) because the sun visor mirrors had finger prints.
6. Look at all areas for things like leaves in the air cleaner area, water spots on inside of wheels, leaves in the wiper motor area. Wheel wells dirty.
7. Radio antenna has grease on it. Wipe off antenna (even if it is down during show).
8. Carpet or mats. If using a hand held vac on carpets, straight or diagonal lines (keeping in straight lines) makes for better appearance.

There are other things like between tread on tires, bottom side of doors & outside mirrors, between tips of exhaust. Water spots on body above where exhaust come out & above license plate.

I could go on for at least another hour but regardless of how clean your car is, in most cases, winning is a popularity contest. Just have fun & enjoy your car........

Detail spray........
Engine hoses - Adams in & out.
windows- Stoners window cleaner.
Detailer- Zaino Grand detailer
Chrome- Mequires cleaner wax
leather- Mequires leather cleaner.
Scuffs - Mr. Clean magic eraser.
Tire shine- Stoners tire prep
Plastic- Griots detailer.

BTW if you are going to show the car a lot, you might want to get a show sign. Sign guy makes them & they are one off usually........

Excellent detail and sounds like you are very meticulous, thank you. This show will be just for looks and fun, no judging, because it is part of the Moror Trend new car expo. But, I like your suggestions, and will remember them for the future.
